Acid King, Kings Destroy, Demon Eye

When: Sat., Oct. 24, 8:30 p.m. 2015
Price: $12-$15
The long-running stoner-metal trio Acid King built its legacy on the ideas of singer and guitarist Lori S, who founded the band in 1993 with drummer Joey Osbourne. Her slow-burning riffs spin while her bewitching vocals drift in open space, feeling at once distant and immediate. Osbourne and current bassist Mark Lamb carve dark corridors beneath those spacey themes. April’s Middle of Nowhere, Center of Everywhere is the trio’s first record in a decade, but it shows the band hasn’t lost the groove. —Bryan C. Reed
