Comedy, Romance

The latest film from director Steve Pink (Hot Tub Time Machine) is a remake and update of the 1986 film of the same name, which was itself based on a David Mamet play. About Last Night is set in downtown Los Angeles, showing the trials and tribulations of modern romance through the foibles of two couples. While the film isn't great, it's frightening to imagine what it would be like without Kevin Hart (Ride Along), who manages to elevate both the material and his fellow actors every time he appears on screen. Despite a weak script and unlikeable characters, Hart proves that he deserves the mantle of comedic movie star.
