A Piece of My Heart

When: Oct. 28-Nov. 7 2010
Phone: 515-1100
Price: $5-17

Every generation has a war to call its own. There was the Greatest Generation who fought World War II, the baby boomers, who fought in—or against—Vietnam, and then there's us Millennials in the Age of Terror. Shirley Lauro's play, which deals with various women's experiences during service in the Vietnam War, was first published in Keith Walker's book of the same name. Lauro attends tonight's opening reception and the postshow discussion tomorrow night. A preshow discussion, "Women in the Military: How Far We've Come, How Far We're Going," takes place Nov. 3. Performances run through Nov. 7. Tickets are $17 or $15 for seniors, students and alumni; NCSU students pay $5. University Theatre is also accepting donations to the Vietnam Women's Memorial Foundation; look for info in the lobby. —Sarah Ewald
