It's hard to find a kidsitter on New Year's Eve. If you haven't already secured the high-schooler up the street to raid your fridge while popping movies in for the kids, the Scrap Exchange can bail you out. Kids from ages 8 to 12 can spend "A Night at the Scrap Exchange" doing creative reuse games and projects before bedding down overnight. Two adults will supervise the event, running activities and serving up an evening snack and breakfast in the morning. Check in is at 7 p.m. and pickup is at 9 a.m. The cost is $90, which is what you'd pay that gum-chomping teenager to camp at your house, anyway. Call 919-213-1278 to register. —Chris Vitiello
