A Doll's House

When: Nov. 10-20 2011
Price: $10

Oh, not this again! Every so often, some rabble-rousing libber goes and puts on this godless propaganda by that communist bastard Ibsen to go and rile up our womenfolk! Ever see A Doll's House? Some whiner named Nora runs numbers behind her husband's back and leaves him with the damn kids. But seriously, director Ellen Hemphill found extra inspiration in this production in "The Yellow Wallpaper," an 1892 short story by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. The show features live music by Allison Leyton-Brown and a crew of musicians, plus video by Jim Haverkamp. There's a post-show talkback with Ibsen scholar Toril Moi after Saturday's performance. The show runs Nov. 10–12 and 17–19 at 8 p.m., with matinees Nov. 13 and 20 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10, or $5 for students and senior citizens. —Zack Smith
