Re: “Teachers give a failing grade to working conditions

As a parent of a current CHHS student, I want to say that (1) the new principle has been virtually absent from our lives this past year and seems to have made no obvious efforts to build community, support students, families and teachers, and (2) morale is dropping for students as well as teachers. [And mold in the school - seen it with my own eyes on parent's night]. When the teachers aren't supported, the kids aren't either, and sooner or later those of us who care deeply need to speak up. I am shocked and disappointed to find out that what I am hearing reflected from my child is supported by this survey. We live in a relatively rich and mostly priviledged community, but most of us are just working hard and trying to do our best for our families and the community. We need to support each other and our teachers. If the administration can't get with the program, then they at least need to stop making trouble.
