Re: “Did Thom Tillis just wreck his Senate bid by opposing a minimum wage?

"The volunteers, in turn, locate, persuade and turn out the hard-to-get."
That's the one and only key point: there are enough Democrat-leaning registered voters out there that we all just need to persuade enough of them to turn out and VOTE. No need at this point to persuade anyone to pick Hagan over Tillis or get undecideds to "decide." That's wasted effort--look at the recent primary turnout: 14%! That's embarrassing to anyone who believes that voting has some actual purpose and effect. We lost the NC legislature in 2010 (and opened the door to the resulting gerrymandering that will now last at least until 2020) because we were still basking in the glow of the Obama-Hagan-Perdue 2008 trifecta while the Republicans were shouting "we want our country back" and stirring up the fear and paranoia of the right wing that 2010 was the last stand for "America" against the Kenyan Muslim Antichrist.

Re: “Our handy voting guide for the 2014 general election

Do you have a discussion on your website as to why you picked Clay Aiken over Keith Crisco for the Democratic nomination for U.S. House District 2? Also why you picked Renee Elmers over "abstain" on the Republican side?
