Re: “What the Recent Backlash Against Kehinde Wiley’s Work at NCMA Gets Wrong About Art’s Past and Present

Ah, so his studio is in Brooklyn. I think you mean New York City-based painter. New York is a state. New York City is comprised of five boroughs. Please don't write one, when you mean the other.

New York is MUCH more than just five boroughs. Thank you. Let's not forget the forest, when all you folks from "the Carolinas" can see is the trees.

Re: “Soccer Is Booming in Durham—If Only Players Can Find Someplace to Play

A new park and more soccer fields would be wonderful. However, the location is really not great for those who would prefer to walk, bike, or take public transportation there. We could really use one more centrally located in the downtown.

Re: “Scratch Announces It Will Close Its Original Downtown Location End of February

No matter what anyone wants to think, you can't grow a business. You can grow a carrot. You can grow a turnip. But you can't grow a business. It's annoying that a few years ago this was an oddball thing, but now it's mainstream. Ugh.

Re: “Bernie Sanders Duke Appearance Postponed

A proper headline would read "Duke University." Thanks.

Re: “Is The Closure of Cave Taureau a Bad Sign for Downtown Durham's Recent Retail Bloom?

It would be GREAT if the author could acknowledge that some people move around downtown Durham without using an automobile. This seems like an endorsement for American car culture and letting one petroleum guzzling invention dictate far too much in regards to daily life, infrastructure, and decision making. I say, power to the pedestrians!

I've lived in downtown Durham since 2008 and have never once thought, "Man, you know what Durham needs? More parking spots!" We are out there in this city, Mr. Sobsey.
