Re: “One mother's attempt to stop gun violence

As a Mom (and school staff member) with a CHP, I'd like to "Demand Action Against Untruth and Bias". This article is loaded with both, as has already been pointed out in a multitude of comments here. But such groups as Ms. Haldeman's care not for the truth, but for hyperbole and emotionalism -- because they know that the truth is not on their side.

Re: “Chapel Hill leaders question gun law; proponents threaten to sue

Anyone who would like to see first-hand reports of people who have stopped a crime because they had a gun need only to look at the "Armed Citizen" page of American Rifleman, First Freedom, or American Hunter magazines. The "Armed Citizen" page provides a dozen or more examples each month of legally-armed American citizens who thwarted a crime because they carried a gun. And before any liberals get all worked up because these are NRA publications, you can rest assured that each example cites the authority from which it came, usually a newspaper article or a police record. Sometimes simply SHOWING the gun is all that is required to stop a crime. Other times, yes, it requires shooting an attacker. That's why we have laws that allow for self-defense.
