Old-school lathe aficionado here, still using the not so bulky, easy-to-maintain Presto. I just gotta say that "tooling replacement parts from washing machines and Victrola needles" is sadly misinformed. Pro level Sapphire cutters are still the norm and in stock, as are cutter head wiring and lathe parts.
That said, congratulations to Wesley for helping to keep the art of record cutting alive!
