Re: “The Democratic shake-up for governor

There is, sadly, no surprise in this account. Fear is stalking the male gender, especially white males in the US as they age, due to the radical changes taking place in human culture as a result of globalization, feminism, and human population growth. It is to be expected that they will group together to attempt to dominate the social order in which they are immersed, with public policies that put them in self-perceived control, even when in doing so they violate so many of the principles that our country supposedly represents and they so profusely proclaim to champion.

Survival requires adaptation to change of a particular magnitude, not reactionary attempts to avoid or suppress it. There is no "Eden State" in human history that can justify loyalty to a particular political system without question; just the continued desire to improve the human condition, which is the real basis for our Constitution. And these guys in NC are so afraid of the changes required, and the uncertainty of outcome that accompanies it, that they are willing to use any measures they deem necessary to block it.

But these efforts will fail, albeit with significant collateral damage to the societies they inhabit, because the pace of change has completely outstripped the ability of traditional system approaches to manage it. As they bury their heads in the sand, the casual observer will note that their real character is exposed, due not only to the obvious hypocrisy revealed by the contrast between pronouncements and behavior, but the character evident from their posture.
