Re: “Send $80 to every working adult who's not on Social Security

Life is not fair. Income and wealth inequality, so what? What a inane concern. Anyone in the USA can accomplish whatever their work ethic, education, hard work and morals takes them. What you need to focus on is all the people with no work ethic (nanny state), no education (refused the great opportunity provided to all in the USA), no work and low morals. This country is overloaded with these people every since Government's nanny state grew. Julia video anyone? Womb to tomb government. Not for me, my children and grandchildren. .

Re: “It's a man's world—maybe

First, President Obama is biracial not African-American. Second a progressive lawyer solving a problem? Particularly one that is caused by too many progressive lawyers. She would says " I am helping the poor by raising taxes on rich corporations" Sounds good, but doesn't work. when Obama says to her, make sure GE's lawyers help write the law since they give me a lot of money. After her door is opened thousands of times by elite progressives (both parties) for companies in their district the rate goes up but tax income goes down. A thousand page bill and no progress except more lawyers, lobbyists and $100k+ GovCo employees. Oh yeah, the press says an Obama victory for the poor. Morons.

Re: “How do eugenics victims find justice?

My money is no justice to them or me. I did nothing to them or support those policies. In fact it makes me a victim. Who did it to them? It is a progressive democrat policy. If anyone thinks money helps; let those people them take up a collection and give it to them and explain to them how that solves their problem. Justice might be to get government out of peoples lives and stop forcing stuff of all sort onto people. I am for that.

Re: “Same facts show different truths about being poor in N.C.

Kudos to gannamede.....

I am not as old or my situation growing up as bad but everyone I knew growing up would be well below poverty by today's standard. No TV, car, AC, new clothes, movies, phones, going out to eat, multiple families in one house with one shared bathroom sometimes outside etc. We thanked God we were American and prayed for poor in China, Africa etc. who did not have clean water, opportunity to get educated, go to the church you want and have a better life.
Every poor person in America should be thankful they still have those opportunities plus many more and were born in the USA not the Ivory Coast, Darfur, Libya or any other place in the world.

One issue with gannamede, most Dems suck big time but so do many Republicans and the reason we are in this mess is because neither side has spent responsibly (only to get re-elected). Conservatives, libertarians, and Tea Party people will fix that and you Indy-loving useful idiots will go along for the ride. While you won't thank us, you are welcome

Re: “Re: Medical malpractice

Fair article... never in the Indy

read Dr. Lane's clarification, especially why it is difficult for Doctors to work emergency cases...

trial LAWYERS and juries demand everyone be a lottery winner, the victim (or their family) get a new double-wide and a bass boat and the lawyers get to be the next John Edwards

doctors care about the person but lawyers and juries look to punish whether there is negligent or not

Re: “Re: Art Pope's empire; Social Security; "Global warming alarmists"; Wake County schools

Kudos to Jonathan Weiler!

truth #1 - in 2010 SS paid out more than it took in
truth #2 - in 2011 SS will pay out more than it will take in
truth #3 - NPR (extreme right-wing propaganda and disinformation?) states the trust fund is like taking you retirement money to put a deck on your house then trying to use your deck to buy food, etc. after you retire... ain't going to happen

call me names, curse me whatever but address my true facts; short term SS is busted; long term SS is busted worse and your trust fund was used to build roads to get Etheridge elected; oops people there figured it out, someday you will understand it also but you will still lie to yourself and scream "tax the rich", "evil corporations" blah blah blah tripe

P.S. Obama corporations like GE etc making billions and paying $0
