Re: “Durham City Council Rejects Mayor Bell’s HB 2 Compromise

Hooray for a bold and righteous Durham! Fairness and humanity trump the flow of economic benefits, in my book, and there's no reason to see them as mutually exclusive.

I'm so proud of and grateful for elected officials like Jillian Johnson, Charlie Reese and Don Moffitt for keeping their eyes on the prize. Thanks, too, to Mike Woodard for representing Durham so well in the General Assembly. So glad you're still there, Mike!

History will remember how these leaders moved Durham and North Carolina on the path to fairness for all.

Indy staff: I think you left out an important word in the paragraph on the bill just introduced at the legislature. "... as well as CREATE a statewide nondiscrimination ordinance."

Re: “Chapel Hill's Graig Meyer new representative for House District 50

Graig Meyer is just what we need in Raleigh! He will be a spectacular legislator.

Re: “(UPDATED) Senate passes anti-LGBT constitutional amendment; voters to decide in 2012 primaries

Sad, sad day. We've got to GOTV like hell in May to have even a chance of stopping this hateful amendment. Damn.
