Re: “Why I'm grateful for Planned Parenthood

I couldn't agree more with this article. Thank you, Joyce Hicks, for being brave enough to write it. I, too, used Planned Parenthood as a college student and post-grad, for many health-related things, none of which involved abortion. In fact, I have never had an abortion and waited until I was married to have a baby. And those of my friends who have had abortions went to private practices to have their procedures -- not Planned Parenthood. But that doesn't make me less sympathetic to women who may need some of the "unpopular" services that Planned Parenthood provides. It makes me more sympathetic. And I think that's a lot of what this world could use more of -- sympathy for others. Not judgment and highmindedness. If you don't believe in abortion, don't get one. If you don't like Planned Parenthood, don't go there. But leave it alone for those of us who do.
