Re: “Absolute power: An examination of Art Pope's dominance

Now do a story on the NC Conservation Council which is run by a payed Democrat party operative who gives out enviromental political endorsements.

Last year this news paper wrote of the NC Conservation Council endorsement of NC House 35 Rep Jennifer Weiss of Cary, NC but you failed to include that the director Nina Szosberg-Landis had made in kind donations to Weiss plus Szosberg is a payed Public relations person for the NC Democrat party.

You want to name names then name names on both sides.

Re: “N.C. House 2010 Endorsements

This news paper forgot to mention Jennifer Weiss incumbent House Rep 35 of Cary was the sponsor, chief promoter and advocate for the Amazon tax Bill. As an owner of small NC websites she refused to listen to our concerns and told me to go get a Walmart affiliate relationship....

Weiss's Amazon Tax Law made small NC Websites the nexus for this law by stating our advertising gave out of state online retailers a location in North Carolina. Weiss refused to hold the consumer responsible for their purchase and the sales tax due under the "Use Tax". Instead Weiss looked for a scapegoat to blame, she blamed the advertising of small NC websites to bring in an estimated 50 million dollars form

She has refused to comment on the Amazon tax law even though Weiss has accepted an endorsement from the NC Sierra Club which offers products for sale where no sales tax is charged. The Sierra club is a blatant violator of Weiss's legislation but Weiss has never mentioned this but has made several comments about "getting what is owed" by

Weiss has also not commented publicly about the UNC University system which has affiliate programs to sell online Athletic fan stuff and online text books. Our state makes millions of dollars from these online retailers which do not charge sales tax but Weiss has refused to step up and demand the University system adhere to current state law.

You might remember Weiss stating we needed to save the small bookstore like Quail Ridge Books but Weiss never told anyone the owner of this book store has always giving large donations to her campaigns. The which is next door to Quail Ridge Books at the shopping center is sanctioned by NC State to sell online fan stuff and was recently found to be selling and shipping items through their online retail store but was not charging sales tax.

Weiss did not discover this University system activity nor has she demanded the Sierra Club adhere to her legislation. She pushed , sponsored, advocated and passed the Amazon Tax Law knowing it would shut down small NC websites but has ignored the actions of the large national infrastructure of websites which have supported her campaign.

Weiss went after small NC website owners because we did not own a lobbyist or even have a voice at the General Assembly. Weiss went after the small business person and shut us down without any concern for us during a very bad economy in North Carolina....

A vote for Weiss in Cary, NC is a vote for a cold, uncaring legislator who will shut down business. I know this because I have spoken with her and she did not care what damage she caused and she certainly did not listen....

If Weiss would have listened to small NC website owners she would have made us the nexus for this law and she would have known North Carolina and her vendors are the largest violators of the Amazon Tax Law. Instead Weiss blamed us and made small NC website owners the scapegoat for the actions of all the citizens of this state.

Please do not vote for Weiss. Weiss will tax your job or business and pass regulations which force you to move from North Carolina. I am a life long Democrat and Native of North Carolina. I say Weiss is not fit to serve North Carolina.
