Re: “Southern Durham Development tries to influence commissioners' race

Mr. Follow the money your name should be uninformed because I just read Rickey Padgett finance report online and it was post marked on the 30th well in compliance of state laws. As you are clearly a Peoples Alliance horn you should get your fax straight before brodcasting such hate and discontent..

Re: “Southern Durham Development tries to influence commissioners' race

Lets see the Peoples Alliance can run up to cars while not allowing the voters to get out of their cars and shove information in their face. They can badger them in attempts to bully them into a vote. They can send out 25,000 mailers every election and use charachter assasination on candidates they really don't know. Make statements that candidates in opposition are poisoning the water supply. Use robo calls to spread lies that encourage voters to take on the left wing agenda and all this is good. Let's think about it? The Peoples Alliance set the stage for a battle with someone they tried to bully and now the victim is not taking it anymore. The candidates supported by the so called Super Pac are all credible and have an outstanding personal history for doing great things in Durham. The peoples alliance candidates were picked long before the race as the donations made from candidates shows this. The PA Pac from the candidates told that story early. Now let's talk about an illusion of fairness...yeh right! Not even an illusion there. Time to welcome a tax base and jobs to Durham. Not one of the candidates supported by the South Durham Pac has and lives on a Million Dollar estate as one one of the Peoples Alliance Candidate does. Google for the tax record of candidates supported by PA and you will see who she is. Just saying guys PA needs to practice what they preach...get your stories straight. The hotter the topic the more money you raise and add to your healthy bank account. Tell the truth it has never been about 751 it's about raising funds! As you all laugh all the way to the bank!

Re: “Nonpartisan Judicial 2010 Endorsements

What happened to endorsing the best qualified candidate for judge? It seems as though you paper endorsed those who they thought could win and not some of those who have experience. Bushfan has no real trial experience, Chris Shella is a seasoned attorney with plenty of experience under his belt! By far his is more qualified than Bushfan and Michael O'Foghludha. Expereince is in the court room not in the church where the committee on black affairs endorses on color of skin and not qualifications. Lavonya Allison and her cronies look to skin color and treat non-black candidates like dogs.

Re: “Hill's backers take Taylor's words out of context? See original source.

My question to Roy is a simple one and this will clear it all up. If a criminal history background is run on his son (even if he has disowned him) is he telling the voters that nothing will be found to indicate criminal activity? The issue was brought to the front based on statements made by Roy. Roy made the statement and it does not matter how much the tabloid tries to discredit what the voter heard he still was not truthful or forthcoming. Roy needs to quit playing definition game. Remember the famous words from a former President “ that depends on what is, is.. the meaning of is I mean?” Was anyone in his family involved in criminal activity? His answer should have been yes with a reasonable explanation. Unfortunately he is playing the IS game. What have to figure out what IS, is? Your standard for firing and appointing people does not even meet your on standard based on your youtube video and indy response. You said two different things and the indy wants to hide it.

Re: “Durham Sheriff Worth Hill set to win fifth term, despite several scandals under his watch

Well, I reviewed Roy Taylor's youtube video. In it he clearly says that no one in his family has ever been involved in criminal behavior yet in the Indy Interview he says he turned his son in for stealing a car? Now we have his lie in print and on youtube. I'm sure after this post he will rush to take the youtube off, but to late It will be available for further review throughout his ill advised run for Sheriff! I did notice dickey did say there were going to be changes November 2. I notice he did not say in the Sheriffs race Bless your heart Dickey! lol The voters can see through the smoking mirrors presented by Taylor and his cronies. Republican trick, muddy the waters and attack like sharks...

Re: “Durham Sheriff Worth Hill set to win fifth term, despite several scandals under his watch

The County manager decides what budget priorities are. The county manager has been advised on the seriousness of not having the equipment in place. The county budget set by the manager dictates purchases for the county building not the Sheriff. In 3 years the Sheriff has lost 13 deputy slots to the massive budget cuts thrown on the Sheriffs Office based on recommendations by the county manager. It is clear that safety of the citizens is the Sheriffs number 1 priority while it is not the county managers or some of the commissioners. What happened with the shooting was bound to happened and the county had been advised of the need. Unfortunately until the county manaager acknowledges along with commissioner Reckhow that public safety should be a priority the Sheriffs Office will take a bigger hit year after year. To many of our politicians law enforcement is only a necessary evil their liberal way of thinking would love to live without. As far as employees that go a stray their is no difference than a child making bad decisions. We can't always garantee they will do the right thing but we can take a corrective or diciplinary action when they don't! It's how we handle it as parents and leaders that makes a difference. No one knows everything their children or employees do all the time. No more than you can blame one group of people for the actions of one in their group! Issues of budget cutbacks belong to the county manager. The county is insured for the actions of a few. Let's think about the money when we are paying for a study our own folks and local groups can do for nothing!
