Re: “Miranda Lambert's song selections confirm her status as modern country's best outlaw

Miranda Lambert is a pop artist and just a poser with respect to country outlaws. She is a mainstream Taylor Swift-esque stand in for real geniune country outlaws that works for suburbanite women who want to fantasize about being rebels. Lucinda Williams is a country outlaw, Emmylou Harris is a country outlaw. Lydia Loveless is an emerging country outlaw. Miranda Lambert is a pin-up,cheerleader, wannabe outlaw only relative to the mainstream unoriginal pablum that passes today for country music. Sorry Jim but you couldn't be more wrong and belatedly more wrong - folks have been singing this tune since her debut - you're late to this misdirected party. Let me send you an Amanda Shires CD to cleanse your palette and, with any luck, your good sense and taste in authentic music country or otherwise.

Re: “Learning about white people with The Hold Steady and indie rock

I agree Tina very unprofessional and immature behavior but honestly what did you expect given the article? And MichealB - bite me - express your own opinions, you cares what you think about those of others - if you disagree write a better alternative comment.

Wow! is all I can think to say after reading this .... not sure what it is ... Indy raise your standards ... this is sophomorish at so many different levels ... not the least of which is its overt and evidently intentional racism .. not even humorous ... just bad
