I'm with Carl, though I suspect many of our reactions are related to the proximity of our favorite roasters! Bean Traders with three locations, two in Durham, one in Chapel Hill, are all independently owned and all supplied with fresh, delicious roasted beans by Dave. Plus, they are consistently voted best coffeeshop in Durham.

Great job! You've reminded me that I need to check out the ones I haven't been to yet (Bowbarr, Neptune's) and did great service to the fine establishments that I have. We are getting quite lucky in our cocktail selection!

I too was amazed by how well-versed Cummings and Schafer were in a hobby they've had for a couple of months! Great write-up. You have captured the same reaction I had most of the time while attending: I have no idea about half of what is going on here, but gosh darn-it, they are having fun doing it.
