919Noise Showcase

When: Wed., Sept. 23, 8 p.m. 2015
Powercloud coats singing bowls and other percussion in simmering electronics, summoning stormy subharmonics and menacing ambience. The Chatham County duo plays this month’s 919Noise showcase, their bleak abstractions a proper fit with Homies’ glitch-noise and Cenote’s squirming, claustrophobic morass of woodwinds and pedal noise. With his post-Animal Collective polyrhythmic tableaux and cacophonous guitar rock, Sam Brown’s work is the most accessible, though only relative to the others on the bill. —Corbie Hill
