Re: “Governor's School blues

Thank you very much for writing this important article. Not only was I bullied and ignored in high school for my extremely dedicated (probably also compulsive) approach to music performance and composition, but also because I was (and still am) a stutterer. Governor's School changed my entire life as I found out the first day that the people who really mattered did not care that I stuttered. Then, almost like magic, I began to stutter less. The school led me to spend my life as an orchestral musician and major university music professor. The Governor's School is not a "frill", it is almost required for the continuation of of our civilization. Thanks again, John M. Floyd, proud member of the 1967 class of the Governor's School of NC
