21st Century Goliath, Thunderstruck, Kiss The Curse

When: Sat., March 28, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $10-$12
Charlotte quintet 21st Century Goliath are a surly radio-rock crew that beef up capable hooks about being disappointed and defiant, about partying or being pissed off with dead-ahead riffs and heavy-handed rhythms. Though they seem indebted to Kiss and Mötley Crüe, they’re closer to the alternative mid-’90s lineage that produced Fuel, Buckcherry and Eve 6. Stick around long enough, and one of these choruses is bound to catch. Kiss the Curse and AC/DC cover crew Thunderstruck open. —Grayson Haver Currin
