Why have a zoning plan at all if it will be ditched at the first developer request? That existing plan has excellent locations for commercial nodes already in place -- rezoning to allow a fast food restaurant next to a school (wow), and place a grocery store just up the road from 4 others seems silly: Food Lion and Harris Teeter are 3 country blocks away on Guess, and Food Lion and Kroger are 2 and 3 country blocks away on Roxboro. What's the purpose for us? Why don't neighbors already meet at the almost identical strip malls around the corner? It makes no sense to us residents, which leads to the obvious question of who it does made cents for.
