Downtown Raleigh Residents, It's Finally Happening. You're Getting a Supermarket.

Lattes and nachos won't feed you forever.

Downtown Raleigh continues to swell with new condos and apartments—and coffee shops and restaurants—and residents have long wondered if their grocery-shopping fate was sealed in the disaster that is the Cameron Village Harris Teeter parking lot on a weeknight.

Finally (well, by 2020) Raleigh gets its downtown supermarket. Today, Kane Realty Corporation announced its plans to open Publix on the corner of Peace and West Streets. The Southern supermarket chain will anchor the Peace building, a twelve-story high-rise apartment, multi-use development with an adjoining parking deck.
