It's easy to find camaraderie at a table surrounded by friends and pints of beer or trays of pizza.

Folks at the Flying Saucer in Raleigh are taking that vibe a step further in solidarity with their sister stores in Texas this month and communities devastated by Hurricane Harvey. For all of September, the Flying Saucer Hurricane Harvey Relief Drive is in effect. Every Wednesday, all proceeds of a select keg will be donated to on-the-ground efforts in Houston and Sugarland, Texas, where Flying Saucer has two of its sixteen locations (the company is based in Dallas).

"Personally, being a North Carolina native, we’re no stranger to the effects of hurricanes," says Raleigh general manager Josh Hamilton. "This is something dear to our hearts. At the time that we knew Houston was being impacted, the overall question was: how can we help, what can we do? It was a decision we made as a company."

Patrons can also purchase ten-dollar raffle tickets through October 1 for a chance to win a $200 gift card to the bar. And the bar's usual three-dollar weekly beer special will be bumped to five dollars, with two of them going to relief efforts. Cash donations will also be accepted in store. More information can be found here.

On Wednesday, September 6, Raleigh's Mellow Mushroom will donate twenty-five percent of its profits to Houston's Salvation Army. More information here.
