Governor Perdue is visible. And the public likes her (they really like her). By 60-24 percent so far, according to Public Policy Polling's first post-inaugural survey.
A group of 20 anti-capitalist protesters occupied CVS-owned in property in downtown Carrboro for three hours Saturday night before walking out at the strong encouragement of town police and Carrboro Mayor Mark Chilton, who each told them they would be charged with breaking and entering if they did not leave.
"Somehow, we need to find a way to make connections" between the charter schools and traditional public schools "and see that we're in this thing together," said William Harrison, Perdue's appointee as State Board of Education chairman.
