Bulls complete sweep, inch closer to another division title

The Durham Bulls’ magic number is down to four.

Chris Richard hit his 15th homer of the season and four teammates had multiple-hit games as the Bulls completed a sweep of their three-game road series with the Charlotte Knights with a 5-1 win.

Aneury Rodriguez (5-5) was the winning pitcher, while Carlos Torres (9-8) took the loss.

Elliot Johnson added a double and single with an RBI for the Bulls.

Alejandro De Aza doubled and singled for Charlotte.

The Bulls will begin a seven-game, two-city series against the Norfolk Tides on the road tonight. The next home game is Aug. 24.

Thursday’s game
Bulls at Norfolk, 7:15 p.m.

Darin Downs (L, 6-1, 4.28) vs. Troy Patton (L, 7-10, 4.79)
