D. Johnson's 30th blast helps Bulls to 10th straight victory

Dan Johnson hit his 30th homer of the season and the Durham Bulls won their 10th straight game, topping the host Pawtucket Red Sox 5-1 Saturday night in the opener of their four-game series.

Elliot Johnson led the Bulls at the plate with three hits including a double for two RBI, while Chris Richard doubled and singled.

Victor Vasquez (6-1) picked up the victory while Mark Holliman (0-3) took the loss.

Pawtucket’s nine hits were all singles.
