The Carolina Mudcats’ recent run of magic came to an end early Tuesday, as they dropped a 4-3 road decision to the first-place Tennessee Smokies that ended Carolina’s four-game losing streak.

Jake Kahaulelio led the Mudcats’ offense with a solo homer in the first inning and an RBI single. Jose Castro added a double and a single with an RBI.
Marco Carrillo (3-0) was the winning pitcher for Tennessee.
Starter Daryl Thompson was solid for Carolina, going seven innings and allowing two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and no walks.
