Justin Smoak smacked a pair of homers, and Team USA had its best game so far in the IBAF World Cup in an 11-1 rout of the Netherlands Antilles in Verona, Italy.

Lucas May homered in the third inning while former Durham Bull Jon Weber (pictured) and Smoak each homered in the fourth to give the defending champion USA a 5-0 lead.

Smoak added a three-run homer in the seventh, sparking the Red, White and Blue to the 11-1 lead.

The game was stopped at the end of the seventh inning because of the IBAF's 10-run rule.

Starter Kasey Kiker struck out seven batters in four innings for Team USA, while Lucas Harrell came on to strike out two batters over the last three innings for the win.

Weber and May each went 3-for-4 in the win.

The USA's next game is against Japan today at 2 p.m. (EDT) in Macerata, Italy. Brad Lincoln is the Americans' scheduled starter.
