USA Baseball has announced its 41-man roster for the National Team trials beginning Sunday in Cary.
Elon right-hander Tom Girdwood (pictured), a rising junior out of Charlotte’s Myers Park High, is on the list. From the ACC are Virginia left-handed pitcher/first baseman Danny Hultzen and outfielder Jarrett Parker, Miami catcher Yasmani Grandal and Clemson southpaw Casey Harman.
The Virginia players won’t report until the Cavaliers complete their play in the College World Series in Omaha.
The original list will be chopped to 22 players on June 24.
