WKNC launches online video series, The Lounge, with Daniel Bachman and Jackson Scott

Posted by on Thu, Nov 7, 2013 at 3:41 PM

Last week, WKNC debuted its new online video series, “The Lounge,” with a five-and-a-half-minute performance from rising acoustic guitar star Daniel Bachman. Bachman, who recently relocated to the Triangle, courses through a rendition of “Sarah Anne,” from his just-released fourth LP, Jesus, I’m A Sinner.

His nonchalant performance casts shadows of Piedmont blues and American Primitive slide guitar from a Hawaiian-style lap guitar. The simple, single-camera video gives Bachman’s unhurried playing plenty of space. In other words, the video feels as casual as the performance.

A new episode, featuring Asheville psych-popsmith Jackson Scott, is up now, too.

Why does this piece call Maceo Parker a master funk bass man when he plays saxophone?

Last paragraph is just more proof there is a double standard when it comes to justice.
