Artsplosure 2009 schedule (sort of) released

Posted by Spencer Griffith on Thu, Apr 2, 2009 at 3:24 PM

While Artsplosure has yet to officially release its lineup musical performers for this year's 30th incarnation of the annual Raleigh street festival (scheduled for May 16 and 17), a slight tweak to the URL for last year's fest yields a not-quite-live site for this year, schedule included. Internet sleuthing, y'all.

Amongst Saturday's highlights are Bayou accordion slinger Buckwheat Zydeco, Terpsikhore indie rockers Lonnie Walker, and Eve Cornelious and pianist husband Chip Crawford's swinging jazz. Sunday's choice picks include swing revivalists Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Annuals alter-ego Sunfold, and the alternately silky and gritty rhythm & blues of The Soul of John Black.
