Zombie and Maniac

When: Fri., Feb. 15, 7 p.m. 2013
Price: $8

Did the sight of Hollywood wussing up the zombie genre with that Warm Bodies movie disgust you? Do you want your walking dead to be fearful, repulsive monsters, not lovestruck hipsters? Well, here comes the monthly Retrofantasma double feature to the rescue! First up is Lucio Fulci's notoriously nasty 1979 flick, simply titled Zombie. It's a movie so extreme in its vile, violent content that it was scorned by the British Parliament upon its release. (Now that's more like it!) You want more twisted, terrifying shit? For the second movie, we have William Lustig's 1980 grindhouse classic Maniac, which is about a crazed, serial killer on the loose. (Of course!) If this is your idea of a horrifying night at the movies, then enjoy yourself, you sick bastards! It all starts at 7 p.m.; tickets are $8, or $6.25 for Star members. —Craig D. Lindsey
