Zac Harmon, Tony Drake

When: Fri., June 29, 8 p.m. 2012
Price: $20-25

Reared in Jackson, Miss., Zac Harmon is a disciple of the Delta blues tradition. He moved to Los Angeles in the 1980s and worked as a session guitarist, songwriter and producer for artists as diverse as soul legends The O'Jays, modern R&B stars K-Ci & JoJo and reggae icons Black Uhuru. That experience seeps into Harmon's passionate electric blues, which balances grit with polish on soulful slow-burners and juke-joint scorchers. Tony Drake opens the 8 p.m. show. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 day of the show for the Train-2-Trane Series concert, with proceeds benefiting the Children's Museum of Alamance County and the Friends of John Coltrane International Jazz & Blues Festival. —Spencer Griffith
