your turn Nuclear Waste Facility Public Discussion, Thursday, March 2: You may be aware of Carolina Power and Light's plans to build the nation's largest high-level nuclear waste site in the Triangle's backyard. It will be very important to get in on a public discussion being held Thursday at UNC. The university's Student Environmental Action Coalition (SEAC) and Carolina Environmental Student Alliance (CESA) is sponsoring the forum featuring David Lochbaum from the Union of Concerned Scientists and John Caves from CP&L. Lochbaum and Caves will discuss various storage options and the risks associated with each option. The public can bring questions about the proposed facility and its potential effects on our community's health and safety. Meet at Murphy Hall, Room 111, on UNC's campus at 7 p.m. Call 933-8548 for more information.
