Yeasayer, Sinkane

When: Mon., Nov. 19, 9 p.m. 2012
Price: $22-25

After a band's made three albums, you'd expect to have an understanding of what it's trying to accomplish. With Brooklyn's Yeasayer, though, nothing's ever that cut-and-dried. Granted, their newest record, Fragrant World, isn't wholly dissimilar from their previous efforts, apart from the occasional drum machine flourishes and some club-friendly burbles. The band's mélange of psychedelic pop, world music and just about anything else they can add to their extra-large musical cauldron can be involved to the point of being abstruse. Still, never let it be said that Yeasayer doesn't make things interesting, even if that also sometimes means annoying. Sinkane opens this at 9 p.m. —David Raposa
