Yards takes the resonant pianos and wide textures of Mogwai's Mr. Beast and Godspeed You! Black Emperor's sprawls in a less-explored direction, at least per the post-rock explosion those bands spawned. They excellently render this aesthetic with their "Kristallnacht" video, in which a repeating melody overlays altered footage of Nazi Germany. The song never finds a peak, but its shifting textures merge with nightmare imagery into an oblique, dizzying whole. For this co-headlining tour, Portland-based Yards has teamed up with Nashville's Gardening, Not Architecture. —Corbie Hill
