Williamson Brothers album release

When: Thu., April 18, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $10-18

Dig bluegrass? Then the Williamson Brothers' new disc might be for you, as it's called Bluegrass! The North Carolina ensemble features not only the brothers Williamson (mandolinist Gary and guitarist Tony) but also the brothers Lewis (fiddler Don and guitarist Marty), along with banjo man Don Wright and upright bassist Bert Sprye. This is the old-school stuff, complete with covers of "John Hardy" and "The Wreck of the Old 97." If you're heading to Merlefest at the end of the month, this show, which celebrates the new album's release, should make for a good warm-up. —Peter Blackstock
