INTERNATIONALIST BOOKS— The film series sponsored by SURGE (Students United for a Responsible Global Environment) continues with the 1992 documentary Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media. The film deals with the political life and ideals of Noam Chomsky and explores the media critique contained in his book Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media, which he co-wrote with Edward S. Herman. In it, the authors take aim at the "propaganda model" of news outlets as catering to the needs of elite groups of a society. The screening starts at 6 p.m. Visit or call 942-1740 for more information. —Ashley Roberts
