Reckless Kelly
  • Reckless Kelly

CAT'S CRADLE—When the Sugar Hill label welcomed Texas rockers Reckless Kelly in 2003, the band members were urban cowboys, pairing Skynyrd licks with piss-and-vinegar vocals and fat lines of fiddle and mandolin. Four years later, they're still some of the wildest roots-rockers around, and their crackling soul and punk-ish delivery still charms plenty. With Sons of Bill at 8:45 p.m. for $15. —Kathy Justice

MEREDITH COLLEGE—Jenna Bush, daughter of George W. Bush, will speak about and sign copies of Ana's Story: A Journey of Hope, her nonfiction literary debut, at Meredith College. Bush tells the story of a 17-year-old single mother infected with HIV. The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Jones Auditorium.
