Eric Amling

Bickett Gallery--New York émigré Eric Amling releases his seventh chapbook, Twin Vapors, in five years tonight with a reading on The Endzones of Beneficial Truth tour. Amling's name may be familiar from his innovative readings with bands like Phon and Ticonderoga in the past few years, or from his work publishing the magazine Optical Oak. In June, Amling will read in Charleston with Hunter Kennedy, the editor of the magazine for Chicago's Drag City Records, which is fitting as Amling has described Actual Air, a collection by Drag City songwriter and poet David Behrman, as one of his essential reads. Tonight's 9 p.m. reading costs $3.

Will Blythe

Barnes & Noble--Local author Will Blythe continues a recent spree of readings from To Hate Like This Is to Be Happy Forever, an intimate account of the personal feuds and social situations that make the Blue Devil-Tar Heel feud one of the most intriguing in sports. Blythe gives a free reading at 7 p.m.
