American Aquarium
Slim's—Wearing their influences (Springsteen and Son Volt for starters) as comfortably as jeans and flannel and displaying plenty of PBR-bolstered charisma, Raleigh's American Aquarium has officially made the move from up-and-coming to arrived. A mere $3 gets you in the door, and the first rustic note will sound around 10 p.m. —Rick Cornell

"Reflections on White Identity"
Sheriff's Annex—Following the well-founded belief that the best way to correct racism in America is to confront it, members of the lengthily titled Greensboro White Caucus of the Undoing Racism Group present "Reflections on White Identity," a series of brief monologues. Questions, reflections and group discussion are welcome after the performance. The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Sheriff's Annex at 325 E. Main St. in downtown Durham. For more info, e-mail or call 929-1624. —Megan Stein
