The Vints, Justin & the Cosmics
The Pour House—Here's two bands riding a wave of retro-cool: Nashville's Justin and the Cosmics bounce between eras with ease, snagging the Strokes nouveau-retro shimmer before trading it in for thrashy grunge or, surprisingly, acoustic blues with a country-western lacquer. Raleigh's The Vints play it straight and narrow, their alt.country crunch built by harmonies that are one part sunshine, one part rain. Tickets are $5 for a 10 p.m. start. —Kathy Justice
