Battle Rockets; Irata; Goodbye, Titan

Local 506—There might be no better midweek escape than this largely instrumental showcase, as the discursive passages that shape these band's anthems wrap around themselves before generally fanning into perfect climaxes. Look for the most interesting ideas from Irata, a bombastic Triad group that combines all the textures of fine German engineering with heavy rock plating. The relative minimalism of The Battle Rockets and Goodbye, Titan work as bookends, serpentine guitars wrapping charged beats in mounds of texture. The free show starts at 9 p.m. —Grayson Currin
