Durham
J. Bully, Carolina Crusha
Marvell Event Center—This Durham hip-hop blowout reaches beyond genre confines, offering the heralded spoken-word works of Dasan Ahanu and the cheap beats and kaleidoscope tones of Winston-Salem's Akrobatics Macrocosm. Durham emcees Menes, J. Bully and Carolina Crusha grab the bulk of the bill, though, and they'll flip lust and life lyrics with each new beat. The series of short sets begins at 9:30 p.m., and it will cost you $4. —Grayson Currin
