Washed Out, Memoryhouse

When: Mon., April 16, 9 p.m. 2012
Price: $14-16

This pairing is a treat for those who like their indie rock on the softer side. Washed Out's Ernest Greene has mostly moved past the fuzzy chillwave of the band's beginnings, transitioning into lush and sensual electronic pop that manages to make shimmery synthesizers provocative and indulgent. Throbbing beats underpin his softly sexual jams. It's music for making love, not for a one-night stand. Opener Memoryhouse have seen a sea change of their own, growing from the ethereal pop of their early days into clean and catchy tunes that utilize electronic elements to highlight classically fetching hooks. —Jordan Lawrence
