MAN OF LA MANCHA
PROGRESS ENERGY CENTER—Based on Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Man of La Mancha was originally presented on Broadway in 1965, with numerous revivals and a 1972 film to follow. Man of La Mancha is a play within a play, in which Cervantes, awaiting his hearing before the Spanish Inquisition, passes the time by acting out the fantastical adventures of Don Quixote with the help of his fellow prisoners.
