Nightlight--An Oakland band featuring Left Coast all-stars from Hospitals and Gang Wizard, Portable Corners drives around the continental United States in a full-size bus converted into a tight-quarters venue on wheels. They're road-tripping on tunes of airy, psychedelic schoolhouse ilk, wandering guitars and haunted howls sneaking out of little Plexiglas windows, washed with reverb and tremolo. The wheels on the bus go round and round, right up to Nightlight on Independence Day (metaphor! zing!) at 10 p.m. --Grayson Currin
