Sam Quinn, Samantha Crain

Local 506—When Johnson City, Tenn.'s the everybodyfields officially called it quits last month, it was nothing less than the end of one of modern Americana's most achingly beautiful harmony pairings. Though co-leader Sam Quinn is now without his longtime foil—and occasional muse—Jill Andrews, his penchant for penning weepy heartbreakers remains. With everybodyfields alums Josh Oliver and Megan Gregory in tow—manning the electric guitar/ keys and fiddle, respectively—and Brandon Story joining on pedal steel, Quinn spent the months just before the breakup surrounded by familiar faces, forming Japan Ten. He'll pair those new gems with selections from the everybodyfields catalog and some choice covers. In lieu of Quinn taking lead vocal turns every couple of songs, Ramseur Records mates Samantha Crain & The Midnight Shivers share the bill, painting gorgeous heartland rock with jangling guitars and Crain's arresting voice. There's a $6-$8 cover for the 9:30 p.m. doubleheader. —Spencer Griffith
