Public Nudity: Shawn Luby, Britt "Snuzz" Uzzell

Broad Street Cafe—The fourth installment of this monthly songwriters showcase, hosted by Hobex/ Dillon Fence frontman Greg Humphreys, is a strong one: Britt Uzzell is a Triad fixture who's played in combos with Ben Folds, Evan Olson, Django Haskins and Robert Sledge, as well as released three solo albums. His charming power pop is quirky and self-effacing, as with the genially rocking "Never Coming Back," a paean to his hair. Shawn Luby is a classically trained guitarist who turned his six-string talents and willowy croon toward folk-inclined Americana in Humble Tripe. His sweet, tender ache unfolds like backward origami. This free show begins at 8 p.m. See www.thebroadstreetcafe.com. —Chris Parker
